Passport Scanner

This application gives you the ability to extract information from a passport by using Optical Character Recognition on the MRZ code and export it using any text processing application on your phone (like email clients or any other application able to process text).

This is an offline app with no internet permission. The captured data is never sent nor stored by the application.

It uses the same OCR engine that is used by the Hostellers Receptionist application to capture identity information of Guest Check-ins.

If you are using using this app in a Hotel/Hostel, please contact us as we may have a much better solution that integrates with your Property Management System.

Note that this application uses heavy image analysis and optical character recognition algorithms that requires a good camera and a good CPU.

If you have an old or a cheap Android phone, this may not work.

To increase scanning success:

-Avoid reflections: the code surface must have homogeneous colors. If you are under a bright light, adjust the passport inclination to avoid its reflection.

-Keep passport's surface and phone parallel.
